APUSH Finals and Review

FINAL EXAM INFORMATION

  1. Final Terms: 50 terms and 2 Memory Qs 
    - Terms will be balanced from Periods 2-8 and a few from 1-9 and 2 memory Qs cumulative from all periods are extra credit up to 5 points each.
  2. Final Essay
    - One long essay from Periods 1-5, 1 from Periods 3-8, and 1 long essay from Periods 6-9. Choose and write 2. 1 will be graded at random.
  3. Final Stimulus/SAQ’s
    - 55 questions (55 minutes)
    - 2 short answers from any time period (26 minutes)

 CLASS REFLECTIONS (25 Points) 

  1. MLA Format/Submit to turnitin.com/No hard copy needed
  2. These will be due after the AP test. Reflections should be 400 words and address the following questions. #5 is optional
  3. As an American, it is my goal that you have gained a general understanding of where you come from and the history of your country, both positives and negatives. What was your favorite time period in US History and why? What did you learn that you didn't know or think about before? [Don't summarize what happened. I know what happened] I want to know what you will remember about your country in the future [I know you have already forgotten a lot, but you must remember...something. :)
  4. What have you learned about yourself?  Did you learn how to study? Did you learn how you learn best (notes, terms, videos, etc.)? Did you perfect test corrections? Did you improve on your organizational or time management skills? How can you apply this next year?
  5. What is something you are proud of that you accomplished? What is something you struggled with and how did you overcome it?
  6. What is something you wish you would have done differently to be more successful?  How will you ensure you do that next year?  How can you hold yourself accountable?
  7. What is something fun or funny that happened in class or study groups that you will remember? 

 LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION QUESTIONS (50 points) (500-600 WORDS)

  2. In what extracurricular activities and/or sports do you participate?  How, if at all, did these shape you as a person and/or your high school experience? Please write in complete sentences and give examples/explanations. This should be one long paragraph150-200 words
  3. Answer AT LEAST 4 of the following questions.  You MUST answer 7 and 8 for BOTH ENGLISH AND HISTORY.  The more questions that you answer, the better of an overall picture I will be able to have of you as a student and as an individual.  When answering these questions, you should be as specific as possible – use concrete examples of accomplishments in class: Each of these should be one long paragraph
  4.  50-100 words: Are there any challenges that you faced outside of school that you think I should know about – socioeconomic, race/ethnicity, culture, first in your family to attend college, etc. Explain how these have affected you.
  5.   50-100 words: For what quality or characteristic do you think that I should remember you by (persistence, analytical thinking, writing, inquisitive, etc.)?  Please explain and give examples. 
  6.   50-100 words: In what ways did you exhibit intrinsic motivation in my class?
  7. History: 200 words. Give three specific examples from History class that you are proud of.  How have you “taken risks’ in your thinking?  What challenges did you face in my class?  What did you do to overcome these challenges? What did you learn from these challenges? 
  8.  English: 200 words. Give three specific examples from English class that you are proud of.  How have you “taken risks’ in your thinking?  What challenges did you face in my class?  What did you do to overcome these challenges? What did you learn from these challenges?
